Lebanese Army to receive additional M121 120mm mortars starting 2018

Watervliet Arsenal has received a contract to supply the Lebanese Army with an unspecified number of M121 120mm mortars barrels and assemblies worth $615,000 (Reference). On average that amount would supply 30 mortar units, but that's a rough estimation.

  1. Great news! That's an average of 30 M-113's that can be converted to create a mobile mortar force.

    1. I hope this is planned. Some of the LAF M113 were already mortar carriers before being converted into regular APCs.

  2. This is what Lebanon's neighbor to the South has done with some of these mortars. No need to reinvent the wheel. Lebanon has plenty of M-113's and now they will have the mortars to go with them.

    1. A mortar carrier variant of the M113 isn't exactly a regular M113 with a mortar fitted inside. There is plate inside to accommodate for the mortar, there are spaces to store the mortar rounds, suspension etc...
